Wedding
Wedding Photography Consultation Details
Duration: 60-90 minutes (usually 3-6 months before the wedding)
1. Getting to Know Each Other
The consultation begins with a relaxed conversation where I get to know you both as a couple—your personalities, style, and vision for the wedding.
What type of vibe are you going for? (Romantic, dramatic, fun, intimate, modern, traditional, etc.)
What inspires you? (Favorite colors, styles, locations, or specific photographers whose work you love)
How do you envision your wedding photos? (Moody, candid, light-filled, or editorial)
2. Wedding Day Overview & Timeline
We’ll go over the basic details of your wedding day to help establish a rough timeline for photography coverage.
Venue Information: Discuss your ceremony and reception locations (indoor vs. outdoor, church, barn, garden, etc.), and any specific spots you’d like to have photos taken.
Key Moments to Capture: What are the must-have shots for you? (First look, couple portraits, family photos, cake cutting, dancing, etc.)
Timeline Discussion: We’ll create a suggested timeline for photography that covers all the important moments, from getting ready through to the final send-off.
3. Shot List & Special Requests
This section ensures that I capture all of your personal must-haves, whether they’re traditional or unique to your day.
Family & Bridal Party Photos: Who’s included in your family portraits? We’ll create a list of groupings to make sure no one is missed.
Special Moments or Details: Do you have any specific traditions or details you want to be documented? (Like a first dance, special surprise, sentimental items, etc.)
Personal Preferences: Any shots or styles you particularly like or dislike? (Candid vs. posed, black and white vs. color, etc.)
4. Venue Visit (if applicable)
If time allows, I’ll visit the venue with you (or review photos/videos of the venue if it’s not nearby). This helps me understand the space, lighting, and available backdrops.
Lighting Conditions: Whether the venue is mostly natural light, dim, or artificial lighting, we’ll plan accordingly for the best photo results.
Creative Locations: We’ll scout for spots with the most photogenic backgrounds—whether it’s inside the venue or in surrounding outdoor spaces.
5. Photography Style and Packages
I’ll walk you through the different wedding photography packages I offer, including their pricing, what’s included, and how they align with your vision.
Discuss Packages: Tailor the conversation to your specific needs—full-day coverage, engagement sessions, albums, prints, and more.
Customization: If none of the packages fit exactly what you’re looking for, we can customize a package to suit your preferences and budget.
6. Finalizing Details
We’ll finalize the logistics for the wedding day:
Contract & Payment: Go over the agreement, payment schedule, and any deadlines (deposit, final payment).
Backup Plans: Discuss contingencies, like weather issues for outdoor photos or alternative plans if things run behind schedule.
Contact Info: Ensure we have the most up-to-date contact info for the couple, wedding planner, or coordinator on the day of the wedding.
7. Q&A Session
This is your chance to ask any questions about the photography process or about anything you’re unsure about.
Questions about posing? I’ll offer tips on how to look natural and relaxed in front of the camera.
Concerns about timing? I’ll help you navigate the best times for photos, like golden hour or sunset shots.
8. Next Steps
Once the consultation is complete, I’ll send you a detailed recap of our conversation, along with a questionnaire or checklist for additional details you might need to confirm (for example, the names of your family members for portraits, or a final list of specific shots you want).
Follow-up email with proposal: If any adjustments or final details are needed, I’ll send over a summary of what we’ve discussed, along with a proposed plan.
Booking the Date: Once you’ve decided to move forward, I’ll send over a contract and invoice for the deposit to officially reserve your wedding date.
Why This Consultation Matters:

It’s an opportunity for me to understand the little details that make your wedding unique while creating a comfortable, trusting relationship. Most importantly, it ensures that you’ll have timeless photos you’ll cherish forever.
